TOGAF 9 Certification Reaches 25,000 Milestone

The open group has reached a significant milestone in its certification program for enterprise architects.

Wednesday is an important certification program of the Open Group TOGAF 9. If I had not seen milestone as individuals in our certified-9 Twitter or LinkedIn, the number of TOGAF has exceeded the threshold of 25,000 an increase of almost 8,500 new certifications in equivalent period of 12 months!

For those of you who may not be familiar with the name, TOGAF, a standard Open Group, it is a proven enterprise architecture and framework used by leading organizations worldwide to improve enterprise efficiency methodology.

Certification is available for people who want to demonstrate that they have achieved the necessary knowledge and understanding of the current standard, and reach the 25,000 mark is, of course, an incredible achievement for TOGAF.

However, a milestone on Wednesday is not the only positive effect of adoption TOGAF lately. Just a few weeks ago, the latest report Foote (PDF) puts skills open TOGAF certification and CA (certification Open Group) on top of the 340 highest paying non-certified IT skills pay more certificates and 289, respectively.
Superb certifications

The report, based on data from the US and Canada, said, "vendor independent organizations like The Open Group have fewer resources for promotion of their programs, but what we have are excellent architecture certifications that employers need and highly value and we see their certifications hold its value if not gaining ground. "

There is no doubt that the success of both can be attributed in part to a huge rise in popularity of open standards in recent years - including TOGAF and Open CA.

The economic crisis has a role to play, of course. Since the financial crisis began, open standards have helped by providing a framework for Enterprise Architects to save their companies money, maintain and increase profitability, and drive business efficiency. And professionally, certification has helped to differentiate Enterprise Architects, offering prospects for job security and better job in difficult times.

However, with the worst of the financial crisis behind us he expected the rate of certification shows few signs of slowing down. The following table describes the increase in the number of TOGAF 9 certification by March 2009:

As you can see from the chart, there are two levels defined for TOGAF 9 "certification people", and these are known as TOGAF 9 and TOGAF 9 Foundation Certificate, respectively.
To provide a brief overview of these, certification TOGAF 9 Foundation shows that the candidate has knowledge of the terminology, structure and basic concepts of TOGAF 9 and also understand the basics of business architecture and standard TOGAF.

TOGAF 9 Certification Certificate provides validation that in addition to the knowledge and understanding of TOGAF 9 Foundation, the candidate is able to analyze and apply this knowledge.
